Safety guidelines for the summer camps in Cyprus 2020

• All flights will be operated in accordance with the instructions given by the airport authorities and respective airlines. It will be compulsory to wear a mask and have a hand sanitizer while travelling.

• On the transfer from the airport to the hotel and back, all participants will be wearing masks. If participants want to use the local transportation, they ought to disinfect their hands once off the vehicle.

• All students will be accommodated in twin rooms in a hotel.

• The hotel provides hand sanitizer and everyone who enters should disinfect their hands. However, children should be equipped with portable hand sanitizers for the duration of the trip.

•The classes will be held at the hotel, some classes will be outdoor. There will be distance of 2 metres between students during English classes.

• All trips, beach activities and games will be held in compliance with the official sanitary measures to ensure the safety of the participants.

• Children’s temperature will be taken daily.

• Any child displaying symptoms of a disease will be isolated and examined by a doctor.

In the summer you will be able to travel to Cyprus. However, there will be some rules and restrictions that are outlined below. They have been designed so that we feel safe and enjoy the sun, sea and beauty of Cyprus.

Epidemiological Cyprus has had one of the lowest ratios of coronovirus cases per capital in Europe.

What documentation do you need to travel ? 

Travel declaration COVID-19 Cyprus Flight Pass need to be completed electronically and printed 24 hours before the flight. 

The declaration will contain the following points:

a) a questionnaire asking for information about the person’s travel within 14 days before visiting Cyprus 

b) confirmation that the person did not show any symptoms related to COVID-19 within 72 hours before travel

c) confirmation that the person did not have informed contact with COVID-19 patients for 14 days before travel

d) a statement that the trip is at your own risk and that the Republic of Cyprus or its operations cannot be held responsible for the infection at any time during the journey

e) a disclaimer that will inform the health authorities upon return Cyprus, if it shows COVID-19 symptoms within 14 days of leaving the island.

 

 What protocols can be expected before / during flights?  

Travelers will have their temperature taken at border control. A physical COVID-19 Information Desk will be made available for travelers requesting information upon arrival

 

Destination protocols

  • Enhanced health, safety and hygiene protocols have been devised for all hospitality establishments, and extensive training of staff will take place prior to the destination opening for visitors.
  • Physical distancing measures will be followed in all parts of the destination, so that people who or not belong to the same travel group maintain a reasonable distance from each other (2sq. meters outdoors, and 3 sq. meters indoors).
  • Where physical distancing is not possible, wearing of a face mask will be compulsory for both staff and visitors (airplanes, airports, ports, taxis, buses, diving/safari jeeps, lifts).
  •  Frequent aeration will be taking place in all indoor areas, so that air conditioning can be enhanced with regular input of fresh air
  • Antiviral gel will be made available in all establishments, at entrances, reception areas, lounges, public toilets, lifts etc.

 

Buses/rental vehicles/taxis/diving and safari jeeps

  • Frequent aeration and disinfection of buses
  • Disinfection of all touch points after every route, for taxis and diving/safari jeeps (door handles, seats etc.)

 

Archaeological sites, museums, theme parks, mini cruises, diving sites, water sports

  • Disinfection of all touch points after every use (artifacts, touch screens, rides, door handles, seats, diving equipment, water sports equipment etc.)

 

Swimming pools, beaches water parks

  •  Disinfection of sun beds, umbrellas and personal safe boxes after every use
  •  Distance of 4 m between umbrellas and 2 m between sunbeds of persons not belonging to the same group

 

Accommodation establishments

  •  Use of masks and carrying out of appropriate hand hygiene, for all housekeeping and service staff
  •  Dispersion of guests at ‘group check-in'”
  • Rooms will not be allocated to new arrivals, unless enough time has passed for appropriate cleaning, disinfection and aeriation
  • Disinfection of room keys/cards after every departure
  •  Where food or drink is displayed on self-service stations, appropriate sneeze guards and hand disinfection stations are installed; alternatively, items could be guards and hand disinfection stations are installed; alternatively, items could be served directly by the staff or guests may be encouraged to use face masks.

 

Restaurants, bars, cafes, pubs and night clubs

  • Use of masks and carrying out of appropriate hand hygiene, for all back-of-house and front-of-house staff; masks will not be compulsory for service staff operating outdoor daytime restaurants, due to the intense heat
  • Service times will be extended, and advance booking enabled, to facilitate physical distancing
  • The minimum distance between tables not belonging to the same party, is 2 meters from corner to corner
  • Menus will be disinfected after every use,
  • Guests will be encouraged to pay by card and not by cash
  • Disinfection of all touch points will be carried out after each use e.g. chairs, tables. salt/pepper mills. souse bottles, electronic payment machines etc.
  • Use of table linen and towels will be discouraged, and should be replaced by disposables

  • Countries A – no need a test
  • Countries B – need to do a test 72 hours before the flight

 

How will we deal with travelers who test positive during their stay in Cyprus, and what is our capacity to do so? What happens to their close contacts i.e. their co-travelers or family members? Who will cover the cost of hospitalization and treatment?

The Cyprus government is committed to taking care of all travelers who test positive during their stay, as well as their families and close contacts. The government will cover the cost of lodging, food, drink, and medication, in all sases mentioned above; the traveler will only need to bear the cost of their airport transfer and repatriation flight, in collaboration with their agent and/or airline.
